Mango Lemonade is a refreshing, healthy and exotic lemonade that is full of flavor and perfect for any hot summer day. Everybody needs something exotic and healthy like this mango lemonade recipe.
Apart from eating them, my other favorite ways to use ripe mangoes is to make Homemade mango lemonade, Mango Juice, mango salsa, and throw them in salad dressings.
All made in a minute through a simple mix in the blender, this homemade mango lemonade takes you on a fantastic tropical ride without a doubt!
Since we are using ripe mangoes here, we only need a minimal amount of sugar to sweeten the mango lemonade. Therefore, it is still healthier than its store-bought counterparts. Store-bought lemonade often has VERY high amounts of sugar and God knows-what in them.
What is Mango Lemonade?
Mango Lemonade is a drink made with ripe mangoes, water, lemon juice, and sugar.
Is Mango Lemonade Healthy For You?
Mangoes are rich in vitamins A, C and E plus beta-carotene. Also mangoes are a wonderful source of skin-healing, while vitamin A also helps to protect and renew your skin cells and mucous membranes.
Lemons contain a high amount of vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that may help prevent free radicals from causing cell damage that can lead to cancer. Lemons are also rich in soluble fiber which may aid weight loss and reduce your risk of heart disease, anemia, kidney stones, digestive issues, and cancer.
The Best Mangoes For Mango Lemonade
The best mangoes to use are ripe mangoes.
To tell if mangoes are ripe, squeeze gently to judge ripeness. A ripe mango will give in slightly to pressure, indicating soft flesh inside. Also, ripe mangos will sometimes have a fruity aroma at their stem ends.
Avoid green unripe mangoes. They are not only sour in taste, but also produce less juice.
What Goes In Homemade Mango Lemonade?

How To Make Mango Lemonade With Simple Syrup
FIRST: Heat a medium-sized pot with 1 cup of water and 1 cup of white sugar over medium heat.
SECOND: Once the sugar has dissolved, turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool down completely. The water doesn’t need to come to a boil.
THIRD: Clean the mangoes, figure out where its large pit lies. Use a knife to cut around it and slice up the mango flesh you carved off into pieces. Finally, remove the mango’s thick skin and blend the mango flesh in a blender. You need about 1 cup of the puree/pulp.
FOURTH: Wash the lemons and press them between your palm and the counter. This is a trick to allow the lemons release all of their juices.
FIFTH: Cut the lemons into halves, and squeeze out the juice using a lemon squeezer. Use a strainer to remove any pulp from the juice.
SIXTH: Mix the cooled simple syrup, mango pulp, fresh lemon juice and water in a big glass pitcher.
SEVENTH: Add ice-cubes, stir well and ENJOY.

Storing Leftover Homemade Lemonade
Any leftover mango lemonade can be easily stored in the fridge. To store, pour in an air-tight container and store in the fridge for 24 to 48 hours.
Freezing Leftover Homemade Lemonade
This mango lemonade can be frozen in any freezer-safe container for up to 4-5 months.
Alternatively, I would also recommend making Mango Lemonade concentrate, freezing that and diluting it with water whenever you are ready to drink.
How To Make Mango Lemonade Concentrate
FIRST: In a blender, combine 1 cup mango pulp, 1 cup lemon juice, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup cold water.
SECOND: Blend till you achieve a smooth paste. Divide the Mango Lemonade concentrate into two Mason jars and seal tightly. Transfer to the freezer till ready to use.
THIRD: Alternatively, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat till sugar is totally dissolved. Allow to cool and add 1 cup of fresh lemon juice and 1 cup of mango pulp. Blend till smooth and proceed to freeze as suggested above.
The Mason jar should only be ¾ ways full with Mango Lemonade concentrate otherwise; it might crack since liquid expands when frozen.
To Thaw Mango Lemonade Concentrate
Transfer the Mason jar with the Mango Lemonade Concentrate from the freezer into the fridge and leave overnight to thaw. Alternatively, leave it on the kitchen countertop till fully thawed before diluting with 6 cups of cold water.
Can I Use Frozen Mangoes For This Lemonade?
Yes, you can use store-bought frozen mangoes. However, frozen mangoes are not as sweet as fresh ripe mangoes and you might need to add more sugar than recommended in this recipe.
On the other hand when using frozen mangoes, you end up with nice and cool mango lemonade without chilling or adding much ice cubes.
Tips To Make The Best Mango Lemonade
- Use ripe mangoes for sweeter lemonade. That way, you only need a little bit of sugar to sweeten the lemonade.
- Use fresh lemon juice for your homemade lemonade. Store bought lemon juices will never taste as good as freshly squeezed.
- Roll the lemons between your palm and the kitchen countertop before cutting them for maximum juice.
- If using fibrous mangoes, strain the pulp.
- Making a sugar syrup ensures that the sugar is fully dissolved unlike when added in cold water.
- Feel free to adjust sweetness of this lemonade to your taste.
