First of all, the benefits of ginger are many. It reduces inflammation in the body and strengthens the immune system and helps with digestive disorders.  It also acts as a painkiller and even ramps up the metabolism.

 

On the same note, lemon is an excellent liver cleanser.  It promotes detoxification of the body with its cleansing properties.  The lemon zest has the most potent properties and should, therefore, be incorporated as well.   Furthermore, Lemon is also a fantastic source of Vitamin C which is well-known to boost the immune system.  All in all, lemon is a nutritional powerhouse loaded with health benefits for the body.

 

Most noteworthy is Manuka honey known to have an anti-bacterial property which consequently gets rid of the pathogenic bacteria in the body.

Making this immune boosting drink is so simple you might not believe it.  To start, I add my water in the blender. I follow by combining all the other ingredients (ginger, lemon juice, lemon zest, manuka honey. After that, I blend for about 2 minutes.  Finally, I strain and serve it immediately to tap into the full potential of this healing drink.

Ingredients
  • 1 medium organic lemon (peeled and sliced in pieces)
  • zest of 1 organic lemon
  • 10 g fresh ginger (peeled and sliced in pieces)
  • 2 tbsp manuka honey
  • 300 ml water
Instructions
  1. Start by extracting the zest of 1 organic lemon.

  2. After that, peel the lemon and cut it into pieces.

  3. Place the lemon pieces, lemon zest, ginger, honey and water in a blender.



  4. Blend for 1 – 2 minutes until smooth.



  5. Finally, strain the juice through a fine sieve and serve immediately.
