When To Use Garlic Ginger Paste In Recipes?
Use the paste in any recipe calling for garlic and ginger to add SO much flavor!
Undoubtedly, this simple blend can be used on just about anything, from potatoes, to soup, to casseroles.
I find that adding this paste to Stews and Curries adds a layer of dimension that cannot be replaced.
Furthermore, it can be used to marinate meat, fish, chicken and vegetables too.
I used it today to make Air fryer garlic-ginger Chicken Thighs and they were amazingly delicious.
How to Store Ginger Garlic Paste
Keep it in an air-tight glass container and keep in the fridge for 2 to 3 weeks.
To freeze, store in an air-tight freezer-suitable container and store in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Alternatively, use ice cube trays to portion them and once frozen, easily pop them out and store in freezer bags in the freezer.
Leave in the fridge overnight to thaw.
Why Store Garlic Ginger Paste in Glass and not Plastic
Glass containers are overall safer for food storage than plastic. Chemicals from plastic containers may migrate from the plastic into your food.
Glass food storage containers don’t leach unwanted, poisonous chemicals in food.
Why Add Turmeric In The Paste
Turmeric is one of the spices most widely used as a preservative due to its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. For this reason, I add it in the paste.
How To Make Salt-Free Version
Watching Sodium? No worries! Simply omit the salt in the recipe and you have a flavorful paste for mere pennies.
Tips
- Always use clean and dry container for storing.
