Normally you may opt to make chicken breast curry, but my baked chicken breast recipe also delivers soft, juicy and tender breast for a delicious restaurant-quality dinner! And did I mention that no Marination is needed here? Yeah…that quick and simple.
What you will love the most about this baked chicken breast recipe is that you can prepare sides (like potatoes or broccoli) alongside it, especially when you need something quick to throw together.
Chicken breasts are an inexpensive cut of chicken that won’t kill your weekly food budget! Not only are they deliciously versatile, but also easy to make on either stove top or oven. Chicken breast is an excellent source of low-fat protein. Protein helps your body to maintain muscle mass and also helps you to build muscle if you are participating in a strength program. Chicken breast is also a very good source of selenium, phosphorus, vitamin B6, and niacin.
Chicken breast seasoning
You only need a handful of seasoning ingredients for this juicy chicken breast recipe:
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Salt
- Black pepper (freshly ground)
- Chili flakes
- Paprika (hot or sweet)
- brown sugar
- Mixed dried herbs (oregano, thyme)
- Olive oil
- fresh lemon juice
All of these ingredients smothered all over your chicken breast make the perfect balanced flavor.
How to Bake Chicken Breast
- First of all, preheat oven to 400°F (about 200°C)
- In the meantime, using a rolling pin, hit lightly and flatten each chicken breast (wrapped in plastic wrap) to about 2 cm. Make sure the chicken breast have the same thickness to ensure even cooking.
- Combine all your spices (oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika powder, brown sugar, mixed herbs, black pepper, chilli flakes, salt) in a small bowl and mix well.
- Season the chicken making sure that all parts are covered.
- Finally, transfer the chicken to a baking pan, and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted to the centre of the chicken breast reads 165°F (about 75°C)

How long to bake chicken breast
Baking chicken breast in 400°F ( approx. 200°C) oven, uncovered, takes about 25 minutes. If unsure, use a meat thermometer to confirm that the chicken is heated through to 165°F. (approx. 70°C).
How to store baked chicken breast
Chicken breast will last up to 3 days in the refrigerator if stored properly.
- Store cooled chicken breast in an airtight container; seal and refrigerate.
- To freeze, store cooled chicken breast in sealed airtight containers for up to 1 month.
- However, don’t reheat leftover chicken breast more than once for best results; also make sure to heat it thoroughly when you do so.

- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (freshly ground)
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried herbs (rosemary, thyme)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
